The Practical Mystic: More On (Bedtime) Soothing Of Upset Babies & Children

A couple of nights ago I had a new experience with my 2-year old… Normally when I take her to bed she gets upset about going to sleep because she wants to continue reading or playing, but I noticed lately that there’s been a shift in our bedtime dynamics. Well this time, upon shutting off of the lights, my daughter started screaming like crazy and after realizing that few minutes of trying to sooth her by conventional methods wasn’t working at all, I asked and found out that she was scared. After accepting my offer to turn on the lights, she was still hysterical, so I decided to try something a little different.
I first tried to remove the wisps of negative energy that could be latched onto her energy field by using the techniques listed in my last post on this topic, The Practical Mystic: Soothing Upset Babies (& Adults Too!). Then, after that didn’t work I decided to take this a step further by attempting to ‘clear’ the room. So, to do this from my bed, I decided that I didn’t necessarily need the traditional clearing tools, i.e. smudge sticks, bells, Sanscrit chants, etc. and decided to openly command to the spirits of this space something like the following: “I command any and all beings of the unseen dimensions, that aren’t of here for benevolent & divinely-inspired reasons, to leave this space & time with the highest of blessings of love & light. Additionally, I call in all higher-energy Spirits, angels, guardians, and teachers that can assist with the clearing of this space, and the filling of this space with divine love and light, Thank You.”
Amazingly, I received instantaneous results… My daughter, who hasn’t slept on my chest since she was about a year and a half of age, stopped crying & fell deeply asleep in my arms! It was an amazing experience!
Furthermore, I take on the following interpretation of the situation. As very young children make it past the very needy baby-stage and start discovering and interacting with the environment more, they become aware of various non-physical energies and entities (until we traditionally force it out of them by telling them they have over-active imaginations, etc.). And being such sensitive and aware beings but not having the emotional awareness of older children, it becomes easy for them to be scared by the unfamiliar (and quite possibly benevolent, yet different-looking). Likewise, I guess it’s also possible for negative entities to try to attach and suck a child’s energies by invoking fear in them, somehow.
In any case, I think that as time moves forward, and metaphysical & spiritual consciousness continues becoming mainstream, that it’s important to be aware that our children are very sensitive, and until they learn to maintain their own space and boundaries, we should recognize that we have immense power of being able to create a safe space for our children, lovingly, spiritually, and intelligently.
